Joyanne
Joyanne was born in Portsmouth and raised in the rural setting of West Dorset. After training as an accounting technician and working for several years in local government, she felt there must be more to life and determined to find it by enrolling to study Social Policy and Administration at Nottingham University. Little did she know the path that she was setting out on…
Joyanne met Rob while at university and they married and settled in Nottingham for a few years. Having made the decision not to go back to work for several years so that she could make the children her priority during their most formative years, she eventually began to work part-time in a church administrative role in Rob and Joyanne’s home church in Coventry. Joyanne also served alongside Rob as a home group leader, and conceived and initiated a successful children’s praise and prayer programme in the church.
Having never felt personally called to France, but knowing that Rob very clearly had been, God clearly had his work cut out to convince Joyanne that her future was in France. God did not disappoint, and confirmed His direction to her in a very real and personal way, giving here the confidence to step out on the life-changing journey of moving to another country whose language she did not speak.
Since moving to France, Joyanne’s focus has once again been on making the transition as smooth as possible for the children, while facing her own challenges in grappling with the French language. She is involved in children’s work in the local church in Le Havre, and has a heart to one day see women in the church released into the fullness of their identity in God.
