Bethany
Hi, my name is Bethany. I am 10 years old, and I’ve been living in France for over two years now - long enough to be getting used to it. My school is called “Ecole Jules Ferry”, and I’m in CM2, which is the last year of primary school. School in France is different from in England because we have school most Saturday mornings, but not on Wednesdays (yippee!). We also get a two-hour lunchbreak when we can come home if we want, which is really cool. My best friend is called Victoria and sits next to me in my class, and she lives just up the road.
Here are some things I like to do in my spare time:
- Drawing and colouring all kinds of things, depending on what mood I’m in!
- Dancing: I go to hip-hop classes every Wednesday with my friends. There are a couple of shows each year where all the families can come and watch us dance. I also like inventing dances. I did two of my dances at the New Year’s Eve party at our church.
- Writing (poems, stories, etc.).
- I especially like reading, but I keep reading too fast so I often run out of things to read. I like reading French and English books, and I particularly enjoy adventure stories My favourite book at the moment is probably “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”.
At church, I like praising and worshipping God during the first half-hour of the meeting, and then I go out to kids’ church. Last August we went to Grapevine in England for the first time, and it was fab - I can’t wait to go again this year!
My favourite film is probably “High School Musical 2″ because it’s all about singing and dancing, which are two of the things I like best.
