About

Welcome to our website!

We’re an English family who have been living in Normandy, France, since late 2005. We came here not just because France is a beautiful country (it is, by the way), but because as Christians, we felt God calling us to serve him here in a particular way.

So, after years of feeling the call and being prepared in different ways for the massive experience that is leaving one country to go to another that is separated by only 20 miles of water but culturally oh so far away, we left our comfortable home and church and wrenched our kids out of their nice English schools to start a whole new chapter in our lives. We live in the little town of Montivilliers, just outside the industrial port city of Le Havre in Normandy. Not the prettiest place in France you might think, and you’d be right; but it does have the virtue of being close enough to the UK to be able to get back quickly if need be. It also has an interesting history: in the earlier part of the 20th century, Le Havre was instrumental in the start and spread of the pentecostal revival in France; later, it was bombed flat by the Allies at the end of World War II; it then languished under almost 50 years of communist local government before finally receiving some vision and much-needed investment from the late 1990s onwards. The result is a city that still has many social problems but feels like it is once again outward-looking and has a future. Our hope, prayer and belief is that it has a significant future in God’s plans for France.

Each of us has a page where you can read a little bit about us. Just hover over the “About” link in the horizontal menu near the top of the page, and links to each of our pages should appear.
